Education

With a decade of experience as a private tutor, alongside impeccable educational credentials and numerous commendations & certifications, I am a consummate master of Mathematics, teaching all levels, from elementary through college curricula. My specialties comprise of: Algebra, Algebra 2, Calculus, and Basic Math. I also tutor a wide range of standardized tests and I have an associate who tutors in English. For me, tutoring isn't work; it’s a fulfilling activity that I would jump at the chance to do. I like being a positive influence in a student’s life and enjoy using my knowledge to help them succeed in school. I have been academically savvy throughout my life. I was a consistent honors student in high school and college, while consistently active in extracurricular activities. I was previously trained at several tutoring organizations as a math and test prep tutor, and also taught students in the North NJ and NYC areas. SAT students I tutored saw an average increase of 150-270 points, while a majority of students earning D’s have excelled to A’s and B’s. EDUCATION: I have excelled in academics since my teenage years. In high school, I attended a prestigious high school in New Jersey, graduating summa cum laude in the top 1% of my class, as a National Merit Scholar. During my four years, I made the high honor roll 16 consecutive times. In addition, I took no fewer than three Advance Placement courses each year, and scored a 5 in each AP exam, with the exception of two, obtaining a 4. I was also active as a member of the Academic Quiz Bowl Team and President of the Peer Leadership Club and the Honor Society. At university, I earned a perfect 4.0 GPA, and was awarded the title of “assistant marshal.” As a member of the honors program, I made the dean’s list each and every semester. I was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the N.J. Collegiate Honor Society, and earned several scholarships. Currently, I am working toward Teaching Certification from a comprehensive and rigorous education program. Experience

I have been trained by several tutoring organizations for standardized tests and basic subject tutoring. I am currently self-employed, offering teaching expertise throughout New Jersey and New York, in all areas of Mathematics. However my specialty is tutoring for standardized tests. What Makes me Different from Other Test Prep Tutors? I provide the following: 1) A personalized syllabus designed to their learning needs. 2) Useful and helpful notes with annotated sample problems for every lesson. 3) Relevant homework to reinforce the information learned. 4) FREE UNLIMITED email / phone support. You can contact me at any time if you are having trouble with homework, a lesson we went over, etc. Skills & Abilities I Bring to the table: ✓ Excellent rapport with school-age children, teenagers, and adults. ✓ Ability to teach a concept in ways tailored to a student’s needs. ✓ Ability to motivate students to learn by praising when they understand a concept. ✓ A common sense approach that offers explanations in simple terms. ✓ I ensure that students leave each session with a better understanding of material than when they came. ✓ Interactive participation is key: There is no lecturing to the point of boredom. ✓ At a parent’s request, I will work in cooperation with a student’s teacher to formulate a custom learning plan that complements class subjects and goals. ✓ I employ an intuitive style of teaching, in which he determines if a student is an auditory learner, hands-on learner, visual learner or a different type. Tutoring sessions then complement their learning style. ✓ I provide simple to understand instruction and guided practice until I am assured that students understand a concept. ✓ I understand that he is being paid to tutor, so makes the most of time together. ✓ I am reliable, professional, and relentlessly positive and have excellent communication skills. In hand, I am attentive to every student's academic needs. ✔ I have helped many students go from D's to at least a B (most of the time an A) in math.

Hobbies

I take great pleasure in volunteering at organizations to assist the needy. I am currently president of the Rutgers Student Outreach Council, where I accumulate around 10-15 community service hours a month. I am also an active member of my local church, Good Shepherd Parish participating regularly in Bible study and community service projects that the church organizes to help the needy. As well, I donate 5% of my tutoring profits to an underprivileged child in the “Children's Scholarship Fund” organization. Here is the website to learn more info: www.scholarshipfund.org
