Eugene Lang The New School for Liberal Arts - BA, Liberal Arts (concentration in Literature and Musicology)

Languages are my passion - especially Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian. I come by this naturally, as a Brazilian with an Italian father and a Chilean mother. My work experience includes individual tutoring, as well as translating and interpreting. My focus is on creating the ideal lessons to fit the student, rather than just walking through the textbook. I want my students to be inspired by language and to believe in their ability to learn any language they want. I use a student's interests such as movies, art, or music as a gateway into the language. This motivates my students to delve deeper into the language, instead of just getting a lesson out of the way. As a teacher, I am motivated by my conviction that education makes life better. My desire is to share this belief with my students. My own education began at The New School in New York. I have a B.A. with an Arts in Context major and a foreign languages minor. I also received a B.F.A in Jazz Bass Performance. I have spent time traveling the world playing music on tour. I also spend plenty of time in books or on the piano, and I enjoy running and yoga.
