Private tutor in New York, NY

Georgetown University - Bachelors, English Literature , Harvard Graduate School of Education - Masters, Learning and Teaching

I am currently working as a teacher, and I also have a background as a design thinking consultant and marketing executive. I am available to tutor students in a variety of different subject areas, including comparative literature, English, English grammar and syntax, writing, and reading. I can also assist students with preparing for standardized tests, such as the ISEE, SAT, and GRE. My philosophy as a tutor involves using humor, positive energy, and optimism. I believe that every student has the ability to grow and that with the support of a quality tutor and a bit of hard work, they can meet all of their goals. I help my students find confidence in themselves, which makes them extra motivated to try their hardest because they know their hard work will pay off in the end. I also emphasize the importance of building a relationship with my students because this allows me to design lesson plans that are tailored for each individual student. Overall, I really love to learn. My goal is to create an environment where learning becomes fun and enjoyable for my students rather than a source of dread. My hobbies include travelling, listening to jazz music, reading fiction, and hiking.
