ExperienceI've been a tutor for 9 years and counting. My style of teaching is more than just teaching a student how to solve a problem but a new enthusiastic approach to learning, a new way of studying, and a new way of thinking. All of my students have been long-term and their transformation is evident.
Being an instructor and tutor at New York University solidified my passion for helping people through times of trouble and struggle. This experience allowed me to explore myself and my ways of thinking by finding inventive ways to explicate the intricacy of the subject matter. Holding the position as an instructor allowed me to better sculpt my personality and hone my identity by sharpening my critical thinking skills. Tutoring is a two-way street. It's beautiful such that despite the age and educational differences, I am always learning something new about myself and my student. Building a rapport with my student allows me to personalize my teaching style suited for my students' comfort.

Anyone can help another person master material, but the one quality that separates a great tutor from a standard one is passion. When Lewis teaches, his enthusiasm for helping others creates a stimulating environment, encouraging his students to find the motivation to learn and work hard. I was lucky enough to have Lewis as a General Chemistry instructor a couple years back and one of his great qualities as a teacher is that when he may not have known the answer to a question I had, he would turn to any resources he had to not only provide me with an answer, but with more information so that I could have the whole picture. That’s what he is good at, giving the full picture with enough detail and simplicity for his students to reach total understanding and mastery. He goes above and beyond to help his students grasp whatever concepts they need help with, taking the time out of his already busy schedule to stay on top of his material so he can provide his students with the best help. If you are looking for a tutor who will not only help you score higher on any test, but one who will motivate you, inspire you and help you reach your full potential in any regards, Lewis is the one to contact. I have no doubts that you will be more than happy with the way he approaches his teaching.
If you are looking for a DAT tutor, I highly recommend Lewis. He doesn't waste time teaching you something that's not covered on the test. This may not be the case if you just learn the sciences from tutors who aren't familiar with the DAT. He breaks everything down to the basics, which enables me to understand the material rather than just forcibly swallow it. I've had three two-hour sessions with him so far, and I already improved 2 to 3 points on the mock organic chemistry section. I'm sure everyone will appreciate his style of teaching, regardless of the subject.
