- 5+ Years tutoring in Academics, Standardized Testing, and Music - Organized and ran an extracurricular enrichment program for children aged 7-12 - SAT:2280, ACT:35, New York State Advanced Regents Diploma, Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar My reasoning behind wanting to work as a tutor is that I want to help students perform better in school by helping them to actually learn and understand the material being provided to them. I have enjoyed tutoring for a few years now, in different fields, and I enjoy cultivating curiosity and providing an outlet to help students really comprehend what they are learning in school. I find that taking the time to explain and making the information accessible can really help the students see the significance of what they are learning and why it is important, which therefore makes them WANT to learn and WANT to succeed. As an engineering student, my educational background is based in science (particularly chemistry) but I pride myself on being a well-rounded academic with a serious thirst for knowledge, regardless of the field.
