Experience
Hi, I'm Kaitlin and I specialize in SAT prep, and all things History related (AP, SAT II, High School, or college level), as well as a few other AP subjects. I also have experience helping to polish college applications and essays for both US and UK universities. My earliest tutoring experience was in high school as part of an academic honors program. In college, I continued with an official mentoring role and since graduating I have tutored high school students in a wide range of subjects including standardized test prep in both the US and London. I think that the real benefit of one-on-one tutoring is the ability to tailor each lesson to a student’s individual learning style. In addition to developing a concrete skill-set for a student to use when they are faced with challenging exam questions, building self-confidence is essential to sustained academic success. The college admissions process can be overwhelming for even the best students. Having gone through the process myself, I hope to not only support a particular SAT skill set or polish an application essay but to de-mystify the entire process. I grew up in New Jersey but spent eighth and ninth grade living in London with my family. When it came time to apply to college, I decided to apply to universities in the US and UK so I have experience with both systems. I have a degree in History from Oxford University and although I work in finance now, history remains one of my favorite subjects. I also hold a Master's from the London School of Economics.
