Nathan S.
Private tutor in New York, NY
Education
I have a Bachelor in Languages and Humanities from the Sorbonne-Nouvelle in Paris, France I also studied in Classe Préparatoire in Literature, a highly-selective, elitist French structure designed for aspiring college professors, leaving me with bachelor-level knowledge of Latin, Ancient Greek, History, Geography and Geopolitics, French, English, German, Literary analysis (in French, British, American, and German literature), and Philosophy.
Experience
I'm a bilingual American-French tutor. I've taught French students from K-12 through college to speak and read English using themes and topics they're interested in. I've tutored middle school and high school students in math, physics, chemistry, and public speaking. I've also helped college students starting out in Latin. I have experience working with learning disabilities, I helped a hearing-impaired student all through his high school studies. I love tutoring and teaching others new things because it puts me out of my comfort zone and requires tailoring to each student! In a way, my third-culture youth taught me that everyone is different, even with a similar cultural background. A French person doesn't learn English the same way a native American does, and I'm a bit of both! When I'm not tutoring, you'll find me writing, acting, or teaching theater to K-12 kids.
