I received a Ph.D. from Stony Brook University. When I was earning my Ph.D., I designed and constructed an apparatus used at Brookhaven National Laboratory for alternative energy research. My research has resulted in several publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. I received my B.S. from Fordham University and am a graduate of its honors program.

I am a tenure-track college professor with experience teaching general chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and biochemistry courses. I also serve as an editor of a college chemistry book. As a community college professor, I am committed to using high-impact pedagogy and non-traditional methods to capture student interest, motivate students, and deepen their understanding of chemistry. My students thrive and break boundaries. They are winners of national competitions, published authors, healthcare providers, and innovators at national laboratories. For more than a decade, I have been beside them to help them achieve their most important goals. My philosophy is to take a flexible, student-centered approach to foster superior performance, enhance confidence, and develop problem-solving abilities. Student evaluations commend my approachability and ability to convey complex concepts in a cogent, easy-to-digest manner. I have well-rounded experience teaching in large university, community college, and one-on-one settings using both traditional and non-traditional teaching methods. As a woman in the sciences, I work enthusiastically with all learners and am committed to inspiring diverse talent to pursue opportunities in the sciences. The students I have helped succeed run the gamut and include first-generation college students, English language learners, non-traditional students, and other students historically underrepresented in the sciences. Hobbies

I am an advocate for championing initiatives that encourage women and others historically underrepresented in the sciences to pursue STEM careers. Outside the classroom, I enjoy rooting for the Yankees, managing my fantasy football team, cooking (with the help of scientific principles—of course), and traveling. I have been to over twenty countries and appeared on the Food Network as a guest judge.
