Experience

I have been tutoring for nearly five years now, starting in my Sophomore Year of high school. Ever since then I have constantly been tutoring in my spare time, primarily through school organizations such as National Honor Society in high school and One With NYU in college. I have tutored a wide range of subjects, including, but not limited to, algebra, trigonometry, physical sciences, SAT prep, and ACT prep. I am comfortable tutoring many subjects, but I have the most experience teaching ACT and SAT test preparation. I received a 2200 on my SAT and a 35 on my ACT, but I do not believe this is what makes me a great tutor. I would attribute more of it to the fact that I simply love teaching, and there's nothing more rewarding than the feeling when a student finally grasps a difficult concept. My most defining skill is my ability to see things from others' perspectives, and this really helps when I'm tutoring students. It allows me to try different ways of teaching and to figure out which way works best for the student. Everyone learns differently, so it's my job to find out which methods resonate best with each student.
