Education

I received my Master's Degree from Harvard University in 2013 and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Georgetown University in May, 2006. I am also an expert in teaching mindfulness. As such, I integrate stress-reduction with academics in ways that inspire students to achieve their full potential. Testimonials: “I am honored to introduce my excellent tutor, Nick. Thank you Nick for all your help this year. You have done a great job. I am a fan of the English language thanks to you. I appreciate everything!” - Tomohiro G., International ESL Student "Nick has been helping my son (11th grade) for one year to prepare the SAT exams. His scores since then have increased dramatically and Nick also gives him the confidence he needs to succeed. Hobbies

Overview My educational philosophy entails joining alongside students in an open, creative, and compassionate pursuit of each person's personal best abilities. I believe that each student matters and that what he or she learns can make a positive difference in the world. Interest-Driven Learning Each student will be asked to share his or her academic and extracurricular interests with me at the outset. I will then proactively intersect these interests with the curriculum throughout our sessions. This process enables the material to have greater personal relevance to each student. In turn, students may be more likely to retain, and engage with, the subject matter at hand. Double-Loop Learning Students are encouraged to critique their tutoring experience as it progresses. This will establish a feedback system in which they can voice their concerns and needs in real time. Evaluation and Feedback Practice exams, homework, and other assignments will be administered to, and reviewed with, each student on a case-by-case basis.
