Hello! I'm a New York State certified teacher with extensive experience working with learners ages 6 through 18. I student taught in a general studies classroom for grades 1 and 2, and in an arts classroom in a secondary school setting. In addition to my undergraduate studies at New York University, I have spent time learning at a religious seminary in Israel. In high school I completed both AP and IB credits. I'm passionate about education, in both formal and informal settings. i believe that different learners require different teaching modalities for success, and tutoring can help fill in the gaps for those learning in specific classroom settings. I've learned from my own practice that often times a learner needs one-on-one attention not to learn new skills, but to reinforce what has already been taught and to build confidence in a given subject. As a creative arts educator, my teaching and communicating styles tend to be out-of-the-box and based heavily in building open and trusting relationships with my students. I believe a tutor must be a strong listener and communicator. I look forward to getting to know you or your learner in the near future!
