Experience
Hi there! I am a recent college graduate with a Bachelor's Degree with a double major in Economics and Political Science, turned young professional working in the transportation industry here in New York. All that I have learned in my years of school has shaped me into the person I am now. Education truly is the key to success. Growing up, I enjoyed school and loved working on science projects, writing stories and solving math problems. I love to be challenged and enjoy helping others seeing them succeed at something they never thought they could overcome. During my time in high school, I volunteered as a student helper working with the teachers preparing lesson plans, worksheets and reviewing homework and exams. I worked with children ages 6 to 13 (Grades 2 through 8) on various subjects including, reading, writing, Spanish language, math and science (earth science & biology). Prior to staring my Junior year in college, I worked at a summer day camp for ages 5 to 13 offering programs with educational, sports related and theatre production components. As a member of the main office staff, some of my responsibilties included managing the daily schedules, meals and transportation arrangements for campers. English was my favorite subject in school. I love to read and write and we use it in our everyday lives. From writing e-mails, or sending a text message or even writing, interpreting and analyzing contract language as I do in my current position. Writing gives us a way to formally express ourselves. During high school and college, my peers would frequently ask me to review their work on essays, short summaries and graduate school application essays to ensure it flowed well and sounded coherent and well thought out. Learning is a process but once you have mastered something, you gain a great sense of accomplishment. I am here to work with you to continue to build on your strengths and also improve upon your weaknesses in which they will also soon enough become your strengths. Basic reading and writing, spelling and grammar skills to reviewing test prep questions and preparing your college essays or other homework assignments, I am up for the challenge and look forward to working with you to show you all that you are capable of with just a little extra help. Hobbies
There is a time and place to be serious and to have fun. For my clients personality and interest, I like to combine the two in order to make learning easier and more memorable. School can be tough, but with the right tools and a few learning tricks, it can be fun. Some of my hobbies include, running/fitness and exercise, playing the piano, playing sports (Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer) reading, photography, working with children, and cooking/ trying new cuisines & dishes. I am also currently in the process of studying to become a paralegal to further my continued interest in law and working with/managing purchase contracts as I do in my current full-time position in a large transportation agency.
