Krist S.
Private tutor in New York, NY
Education
I am currently a second year PharmD Candidate in the 6-year PharmD Pharmacy Program at St. John's University in Jamaica, Queens, with a 3.31 overall GPA. My classes mostly consist of science, math, and communication subjects. I also attended Xavier High School in Manhattan, New York, and graduated with an 89 overall GPA. Again, I focused on many sciences classes but matched these classes with many English and History AP courses. I also attended St. Andrew Avellino Middle School in Flushing, New York. I am still actively involved with the school as I constantly volunteer and work with the school's church and faculty.
Experience
I have acted as a tutor and mentor to freshmen in both my high school and university. I am currently a New Student Orientation Leader at St. John's, which is the most sought after leadership position on campus. During this job, I will be tasked to introduce over 3,000 students to the campus and university life and be their mentor that they could contact at any moment. My SAT score is 1940 and I have obtained several AP scores in History and English (4's and 5's). I have worked with children and high school students many times before as I was a Big Brother in Xavier (freshmen mentor) and worked with Project Happy in Hunter College (tutored children and adults with mental and physical disabilities). I have also interacted with many international students as I have participated in week long volunteering sites with my high school campus ministry in countries such as Mexico and Ecuador.

Hobbies
I LOVE all sports, but I do mainly focus on soccer and rugby as I am the son of two immigrants and played for Xavier High School's Varsity Rugby team (which was #3 in the US). I do live near by Citi field and watch the Mets quite often. My favorite subjects are Science and English. I love the practicality of science and how it makes me use my critical thinking skills, which also allows me to apply mathematics. I also loved English because it allowed me to be creative and express myself. I am a very open person religiously as my mother is Muslim, while my father is Catholic. I went to a Jesuit high school and took many Global Religion classes. I focus mainly on service and have been exposed to many different religions and cultures, so I am very accepting and will never feel uncomfortable!
