Nicole W.
Private tutor in New York, NY
Education
I recently graduated from Bowdoin College with a degree in Neuroscience, and am currently a graduate student in Science Journalism at NYU. I attended a private day school in Connecticut for high school.
Experience
Experience tutoring biology and neuroscience. 800 SAT subject test in Biology, 800 on SAT Writing, 790 on SAT Reading. High level undergraduate coursework in biology, neuroscience and molecular biology at one of the top colleges in the country. 6 years in journalism, both as a writer and editor, leaves me uniquely qualified to work on writing skills and techniques with students of any level and in any subject area. I served as a managing editor and the editor in chief at the Bowdoin Orient, Bowdoin's award winning weekly newspaper; during my tenure, I also trained and mentored dozens of new reporters, helping them with their writing skills throughout. I'm a science journalist--a field built around helping people understand complicated scientific concepts--which makes me particularly suited to tutoring in the sciences.
