I'm attending Columbia University for my engineering degree. My primary subjects are SAT prep, math, introductory Chinese, and physics. I also tutor various areas of science. I work hard to encourage creative thinking skills to prepare students academically and mentally for more than just their next exam. As a tutor, I focus on understanding the student as an individual. I identify the areas they need the most help in, as well as their strengths, goals, and learning style, to provide a curriculum that focuses on their needs. I strive to explain each concept in an easily understandable way using teaching materials that are well-suited to the student's learning needs. I focus on helping my students master the target subject entirely, rather than simply learn to answer the problems correctly. I believe true academic success is based in subject mastery. I aim to challenge my students to build their confidence and understanding to be prepared for future materials. I can teach students valuable test-taking skills and study strategies to improve their abilities as a student in general. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy playing sports, particularly basketball, baseball, and football. I am a drummer with a deep passion for music.
