Experience
I just returned to New York after a year in Peru, where I served as an English Teaching Assistant in a Peruvian university. I assisted middle school, high school, college and adult learners with foreign language acquisition and test preparation, including TOEFL, ECCE and IELTS. Before teaching English in Peru, I was an editor at my college's biggest newspaper and helped students to improve their writing skills in English. I've also tutored students in both French and Spanish, with a focus on exams like SAT subject tests or AP exams, but I have experience tutoring at all levels. I have lived in Argentina, Peru and France, where I gained near-native fluency in Spanish and French respectively. I have worked with students at all levels to build confidence in their speaking, writing, and reading skills and to understand grammar concepts to increase their fluency and accuracy in Spanish, French and English. I am an enthusiastic and patient tutor and I love working with students of all ages. Helping a student to achieve her goals is my objective when I meet with a client, whether to improve grades in school or to gain fluency in a language before a business trip. I enjoy creating flexible lesson plans that fit to each individual student and have proven skills in helping students acquire confidence in or mastery of a foreign language.
