Math is my favorite subject to tutor or teach because I have found the best ways to explain the relationships and core concepts. When I am meeting with a student, I first find their confidence level and build upon it. While I support and encourage success, I also believe failure can serve as a learning experience. My favorite subject and the one I am most able to help with is mathematics. However, I am confident that I can help pupils complete homework in all other academic subjects. As far as my education, I have a long, rich history, which started at boarding school in the Northeast. From boarding school, I went on to college at Hunter College, Baruch College, San Francisco Art Institute, and the University of Chicago. This extensive history includes two masters degrees, the first in Fine Art and one in Education. I have worked with youth since I first volunteered at a public school in the 90's. For the last ten years, I have been a public school teacher. Before beginning this position, I was a teacher in New York City and Japan. I am looking forward to helping your child confront their difficulties and succeed at their academic goals.
