Experience
I'm a tutor who is based out of New York City, where I enjoy cooking, jogging, playing the flute, and volunteering when I'm not working with students in the classroom. I'm currently an undergraduate at the Macaulay Honors College at the City College of New York. As a tutor, I'm able to provide students with lessons in a variety of subject areas. Some of the subjects I've recently tutored students in include math, writing, social studies, and standardized test preparation. I have a long history with being a tutor. I used to participate in a program called Book Buddies at my local library on Long Island. In this program, I volunteered to teach elementary school readers how to develop a passion for reading. I did this by helping them to finish books and pick new books that might spark an interest. My passion for helping others learn continued in high school when I volunteered my time as a member of the National Honor Society. Additionally, I've always helped my five younger siblings with their schoolwork. I believe myself to be an accommodating and flexible tutor, who is willing to meet students at the time and place that work best for them. I don't just tell my students the answers. Instead, I give them the tools and guidance they need to find the answer for themselves.
