Experience
I am a full-time professional tutor. My job is to work with students, parents & teachers to achieve academic goals and develop long-term cognitive skills. A lot of what I do has to do with diagnosing specific performance gaps and using a highly personalized approach to target them. The majority of my clients hire me for help with Math, specifically Algebra and standardized testing like the SAT. For English and writing support, I coach students through the development of an essay with an analytic and structured language arts model that produces sustainable results. It's common for students to say and truly feel that they are comfortable with a concept, and then fail to perform on an assignment or evaluation. This is a result of both study as well as teaching methods. Unfortunately, many educators focus on passively showing instead of actively teaching students how to solve problems. This facilitates the mere impression of knowledge, rather than fostering a real understanding of the material. I've also spent years conducting research at NYU Medical Center and published a paper on my research in a scientific journal in 2007.

Hobbies
I am interested in diagnosing and targeting performance gaps by approaching a student's specific barriers to cognition from different angles until concepts are understood and scores improved. I also develop strategic campaigns for success in the college admissions process, through online or in-person (in NYC) admissions advising.
