Kennedy Urban Education Award I love working with middle and high school students, as well as college level students. I have been a teacher for 16 years, and I have worked as a tutor for about 20 years. I currently work as a high school English teacher at an independent school in NYC. Students at the school where I teach struggle with a variety of challenges, including learning disabilities, anxiety, and depression. As a result, I know how to differentiate and individualize my instruction to meet the needs of each student. With tutoring, I love the opportunity to work with students one on one. There is no better feeling than working with a student and witnessing the growth and progress they make.
