Education

Graduated from Cornell University in 2015 with a B.S. in Bioengineering. Currently a Master's Engineering student from Cornell University. I study Bioengineering and am currently working on a NASA funded research project that aims to prepare humans for missions to Mars in the next decade.

Experience

Teaching has always been a passion of mine. In addition to being a TA for several classes at Cornell, I specialize on working with younger students at local middle and high schools. I was homeschooled by my parents and was taught first hand how important the core basics are to helping you succeed in higher level education. One of the most rewarding things I find about teaching it helping a student reach that "Aha" moment... not because I told them, but because they discovered it themselves. My goal as a teacher to help a student improve skills right from their classes and studies by adding a real life dimension. This helps add value to learning that adds excitement because a student now has a sense of purpose and reason to be learning - now, they're engaged in learning. As an Engineer, Geometry is a pinnacle skill. I apply it every day in my studies and research at Cornell whether I'm building a tools for astronauts or studying the structures of polymers on a molecular level. Being an engineer where I utilize this skills daily, allows me to be uniquely qualified to teach the concepts of Geometry. You'd be surprised how important it is to be a great writer when you're an Engineer. If you think about it, if you have a great idea but can't communicate it well through writing a proposal or to find resources, you can't really do anything with that idea. That's why good writing - by that I mean writing that is grammatically correct and has cohesive flow of thought - is crucial skill I've developed. Technical writing as an engineer takes much of the writing I do as a whole. The strongest portion of my SATs, I scored an 800 and was actually a former an English Major. I learned many of techniques whether it's creative writing for a short story or conveying a message through nonfiction recount of history. This rather diverse perspective on writing helps qualify me as an English tutor, even though I am an engineer.

Hobbies

Piano is one of my favorite hobbies. My background in music includes an extensive repertoire and I have performed on stages including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, the White House among other venues. I started playing since I was 5 years old so I have a perspective on the pitfalls that can arise with learning to play the piano and some ways to work around it. Music is a fantastic way to destress and I'd would love to teach how to play the piano, especially when you're just getting started. While I'm not playing the piano, I'm probably building and flying helicopters and quadcopters.
