Experience

I have taught and/or tutored for the past twenty years and have a history of excellent chemistry and results with my students. I tutor because I'm an excellent teacher, have found the process very rewarding and have the ability to connect with my students in a way that makes their experience fun, interesting and totally lacking in judgment or intimidation. I've tutored at all levels from middle school through continuing adult education. I've done extensive coursework in all the subjects I've selected to tutor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. I have written two books, published respectively by Simon & Schuster and Random House. I have developed television shows and films and have worked as a producer in television, film and publishing. In my capacity as a "producer" for publishing, I have conceived of, written, edited, researched and marketed over twenty-five books.

Hobbies

I am highly involved in the arts, ranging from music to theater to film and television. I create in these fields and collaborate with others. I have been trained in classical ballet, horseback riding, competitive swimming and the basics of graphic design. I'm extremely thorough but very easy going with my students. My teaching style feels, to the student, like a conversation more than a lecture. This is partly due to my involvement with the NYC court system as a licensed mediator. Through mutual understanding and "safe" conversation come greater enlightenment and openness to learning!
