Education

In May of 2011, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language Arts from Hunter College.My acceptance into the New York City Teaching Fellows, later that year, launched me into a career as a leader and educator in the urban school setting. In the summer of 2013, I received my Master's in Education from the City University of New York.

Experience

I have over ten years of experience tutoring and teaching. I am a certified teacher with experience teaching all core subjects as well as ESL and students with special needs. I am also fluent in Spanish. Since 2011, I have been a dedicated educator in many capacities. From 2011 until 2015, I held a position as a Bilingual Special education teacher for the NYC Department of Education both as a Lead teacher as well as in collaborative team-teaching environments. I have worked with students of all ages as an after-school group leader, in-home tutor, and youth worker. I have a lot of experience with elementary and middle school youth as a mentor and instructor. I quickly learned some time ago that my purpose and passion in life has always been to work with young people!

Hobbies

When I am not teaching or chasing my toddler around the house, I am enjoying music, a movie, or reading a good book. I love to dance, cook (and eat!), sew and maintaining an active lifestyle.
