I graduated from Columbia University with a bachelor's degree in English. During this time, I not only worked in the drama department, but also spent a bulk of my time writing and reading great works from some of America and Britain's best authors. Along with theater and English, I also enjoy history, American literature, and children's books. In my free time, I helped tutor students in a number of challenging subjects, including grammar, public speaking, and SAT prep, as well as help them develop the organizational skills and study habits needed to excel in an academic setting. I believe that the best way to reach a student is to work with them on a one-to-one basis, where you're able to observe the mistakes that they make and walk them through the correct way. While I know firsthand that English and writing can be challenging subjects, I truly believe that everyone has the capacity to excel in the classroom regardless of their past performance. Students just need to have the opportunity to work with someone who's committed to helping them succeed and able to go the extra step to ensure that they're able to overcome their academic hurdles. Outside of tutoring, my hobbies include theater, dance, doing yoga, and knitting.
