Abdul A.
Private tutor in New York, NY
Education
I went to CUNY-Queens College on a scholarship and was actually paid to attend the school. I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Economics and a minor in Honors in the Humanities. I took many different classes and managed to do well in all of them. I was Salutatorian of my high school and was number one in History in high school.
Experience
I am currently serving New York City as a member of NYC Civic Corps, an Americorps program run by NYC Service. I currently serve in a non profit helping to increase volunteerism and overall organizational capacity of the non profit. I am interested in tutoring because I feel my achievements through out my academic experience prove my capabilities in helping others to learn and understand subject material. I have taken a variety of courses while in college. I finished all the pre-med courses and majored in economics and minored in honors in the humanities. I did well in college and graduated cum laude. I hope to help students who are struggling or just need that extra help. I see tutoring as a more respectable pathway to earning supplemental income.
