DETAILS: https://www.tokyo-academia.com I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan until I moved to Los Angeles, California as an international student in 2012. As I attended Kanda Institute of Foreign Language, I started teaching English as a second language at the private school, Meiko Network Japan. The experience there inspired me to pursue one side of my career; educator. Teaching and academically supporting over 200 students in elementary to high schools, I also learned how learning non-native language effects human development. ​ I believe that learning a second (or third, and more) language gives us a new perspective and cultured mind set. In my lessons, we focus on 'communicating from the heart' - not only learning how to say things, but also learning the culture that has constructed the language. ​ From my own experience of learning English as a non-native speaker, I support my clients to get through every single learning step with creating their identity in the language and culture. Since languages can be considered as tools of human interaction, having positive and creative intention makes the learning even more special for us. There may not be an easy way to learn a language, but since you've chosen this great path, I'd like to make your journey as fun and memorable as possible!
