I tutor the subjects of math, poetry, writing, and, a favorite of mine, essay writing. During college, I spent a semester in Paris studying poetry. I have composed poems as a hobby since high school. I also went to a Spanish immersion elementary school, where I took Spanish classes continually. This is why I also tutor Spanish. My instructional method focuses on control. It is my goal that my students have control over their studies, and can guide themselves rather than relying on me or any instructor. It is very important that a student learn to guide their studies. This requires confidence because they must be able to find answers without fear or anxiety. Even if their answers are wrong, I would work with the student to find out where the student went wrong. My family is a family of educators, and I have always had an appreciation for learning. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and a Musical Theater Certificate from Northwestern University. As a child, I helped my mother's students and my peers with math. Due to my background in musical theater, I enjoy dancing and singing. I was a gymnast and still do tumbling. I also enjoy sketch and improvisational comedy.
