Private tutor in New York, NY

University of Denver - Bachelors, International Studies/German , Johns Hopkins University - Masters, International Economics

I have experience working as a 5th grade special education teacher in the New York city area while in the Teach for America program. During this time, I was told I was a very effective teacher. With this experience, I improved upon my technological skills. This includes use of SmartBoard technology, PowerPoint, and iPad applications. I love to connect with the students that I work with as we work towards learning more about math. I also had the chance to teach a seminar to other Teach for America members. In my presentation, I showed ways to make learning more fun, engaging, and interactive. I found ways to manage different projects while continuing to develop in the field. I am also very engaged in my community. Since I'm very close to Columbia University, I understand the fragmentation that New York City has. I enjoy running, eating food at area restaurants, and spending time with my dog.I'm ready to help you with many subjects, such as science, math, business, and test preparation.
