Experience
I’ve been lecturing physics at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering for 18 years. I teach introductory level physics as well as graduate level Quantum Mechanics. I also teach Computational Physics (using the computer to solve advanced physics problems). I received the Distinguished Teacher award in 2013, a $10K award given to one lecturer who demonstrates excellence in teaching. I also have received overwhelmingly positive reviews from students, both through the course evaluations and online at ratemyprofessors.com. Why tutoring? Truthfully, I’d like to make a little extra money on the side. It’s fortunate that I have a way to do this that I find thoroughly enjoyable. I love mathematics and physics, and the process of teaching, whether to a large group or one-on-one, is something I feel quite fortunate to be able to do.

Hobbies
I program educational software for a company called Physics Curriculum and Instruction. Specifically, I have three pieces of physics software with them. I’m also teaching myself to create iOS apps. I currently have an app in the iTunes App Store which demonstrates lenses and mirrors. I’m working on a new app which is a Quantum Mechanics simulator. The oddest thing about me is that I’m also a group fitness instructor. Yes, a physicist who teaches fitness classes. It keeps me balanced!
