Private tutor in New York, NY
Vassar College - Bachelors, English
I attended Stuyvesant High School in New York. Upon graduation of high school, I went on to pursue my bachelor's degree in English at Vassar College. At Vassar, I also studied political science, history, art, and music. I consider myself a lifelong learner. Beyond my academics, I also have held a number of jobs where I was continually learning. I have taught copy editing to adult students. I also have served as a copy editor to a number of publications. As for my teaching style, I am dedicated and have a true love and passion for teaching. I have taught students of all ages, ranging from children to adults. I prefer to work in one-on-one settings. This allows for me to build a bond with my students. It allows for me to get to know their strengths and weaknesses. I am a great listener and communicator, and I enjoy encouraging my students to put their best foot forward. I have worked with students preparing for their college essays. I also have helped younger students with basic reading comprehension and writing skills. When I am not working, I can be found reading Smithsonian magazines. I also love visiting bookstores and seeing what cool and unique books I can find.
