I have many siblings, and as we grew up, we always helped each other with our schoolwork. It often fell to me to tutor my siblings and make sure they succeeded in their classes. This is the same kind of relationship I try to form with my students when tutoring. I try to build a relationship on trust. I hold a bachelor's degree from Washington University in biology. In terms of teaching experience, I spent a good portion of my college years tutoring and mentoring through a variety of programs, primarily teaching students concepts related to math and reading. I strive to provide my students with the skills necessary to score highly on tests and receive excellent grades. I have ample experience teaching students of all ages in a wide range of subjects, and I am able to help students perform to their greatest capacities no matter what they are struggling with. I specialize in teaching English, math, and biology. I am also a proficient standardized test-taker, and I love to share with my students the techniques I have learned for scoring highly on tests such as the SAT and ACT. Taking the time to hone a skill that doesn't come easily is a very brave thing to do, and I encourage and congratulate my students for making the effort to stretch their limits during our sessions together.
