I attended the University of Oregon and received an undergraduate degree in Business Finance. After, I moved to Philadelphia where I achieved my graduate degree in Urban Education from the University of Pennsylvania. The past three years, I have taught special education along with high school math. Before I began my teaching career I was a tutor for the University of Oregon covering multiple math subjects, business, economics, and Spanish. I'm qualified to tutor your student in middle school math, pre-algebra, algebra 1, geometry, and Spanish. My background includes working with students of all abilities, including those behind a grade in school or struggling with classes. I've taught classes that advanced one to two levels in math during the course of a year. When I start tutoring a student, I first work to identify their strengths and challenges. A successful tutoring session is individualized to the student. It is very important that students on their own attempt the problems first, before having a tutor or teacher step in to give guidance.When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I'm an avid runner who trains for half-marathons. I love exploring the city, and I'm teaching myself to cook, too.
