Experience

Since receiving my BA in Applied Linguistics and graduating magna cum laude from Omsk State Pedagogical University, professional growth has been one of my top priorities. My CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from Cambridge ESOL led me into corporate ESL teaching. Further continuing my professional development, I received a TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) certificate from Cambridge ESOL. While teaching, I also pursued a career in translation. Combining my experience with and knowledge of English and Russian, I became a certified translator after completing a Translation Studies course at the University of Chicago. This gave me even greater insight into designing tailored courses and accompanying tests for my students. I am a native speaker of Russian with a BA in Applied Linguistics. My 10 years of RFL (Russian as a Foreign Language) experience include teaching grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and exam preparation courses. I have taught students of various ages and levels (Beginner to Advanced). Depending on the students' goals, I either choose a primary course book or compile materials from a variety of sources to enable the students to practice Russian as much as possible. I use the communicative approach most of the time, but I do believe that different learners may require different teaching methods.
