Experience
I recently received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Dramatic Art and Anthropology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. I graduated with honors and received the Robertson Scholarship throughout college, providing me with tuition and living accommodations, as well as a summer stipend. I also received a minor in Fiction Writing, in which I completed an honors thesis. I traveled to France, China, and New Orleans throughout my college career, studying theater, martial arts, and nonprofit arts management. Currently, I am a summer teacher at the Governor's School of North Carolina, where I teach gifted high schoolers ethics and theater. I also act as a tutor for Anthropology, English Literature, Essay Writing, Public Speaking, and Sociology. I am comfortable teaching standardized test preparation and AP classes as well, and have experience tutoring the English and Critical Reading sections of the SAT, PSAT, and ACT. I am passionate about writing and the humanities, and I have achieved a perfect score on the writing portions of all standardized tests I have taken. I believe that academic success should be available to all students, and I work hard to help my students achieve this success. My learning style incorporates a broad range of approaches from cartooning to kinesthetic activities.
