Experience

I'm a fifth grade math teacher at a charter school and one of the most effective middle school math teachers in the state of New York. My students' math test scores, last year, were the sixth highest in the state. My philosophy is that every student can learn and can achieve academic success. I find each student's strengths and challenges, and then I develop a plan to engage that student that will highlight the strengths and overcome the challenges. I have strong bonds with my students and their parents, and we work together to achieve our goals. My students understand I have high expectations, but we work together as a team in pursuit of our dreams.I have the experience and presence to help your student achieve their academic dreams, too. I'm qualified to tutor all levels of math, from elementary through college-level, as well as geography, biology, history, chemistry, government, English, ESL, essay writing/editing, public speaking, religious studies, and Hebrew. I can help your student prepare for the PSAT, SAT, SSAT, and any level of the ISEE.Away from the classroom, I love to explore the city, try new restaurants, cook, write, and draw. I enjoy the outdoors, and especially love hiking in upstate New York.
