Experience
In the summer of 2008 I worked at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company as an Editorial Intern. I learned a great deal, in terms of understanding what made strong writing samples or weak ones. This internship solidified my love of being involved in the process of editing other's works. Beginning in the summer of 2006 where I worked at a day camp in association with the 92nd Street Y, I have really enjoyed working with kids. For the past two summers (2009 and 2010) I have worked at North Country Camps, a two-month sleep-away camp in New York’s Adirondack Mountains, as a counselor for girls in middle school through high school. At camp I taught Creative Writing Workshops, Photography and Arts & Crafts. When kids finished what they were working on I was most proud seeing them succeed. My previous work experience has helped me learn that I love to be part of another’s learning process.
