Experience
I attended Columbia University where I acquired my PhD. I have over twenty years of teaching and tutoring experience and have mostly worked with students in one-on-one environments. I can effectively tutor math, chemistry, and physics and can work with students of all ages and skill levels. Along with math, chemistry, and physics, I have worked with students to prepare them for their SAT examination. I also have worked with students to prepare them for their New York state exams. I worked at Boston College for approximately four years. During my four years there, I was a full-time faculty member who taught chemistry to undergrads and grads. I also worked at an advanced after-school program where I taught math to students in grades first through eighth. While group tutoring serves its purpose, I firmly believe that one-on-one tutoring is more effective. One-one-one teaching allows for the teacher to really spend quality time with the student and dedicate time to learning what skills need to be brushed up on. Because no two students are alike, I tailor each of my lesson plans to accommodate the student and his/her skill. I believe that learning should always remain challenging without being too overwhelming.
