Experience

I have a passion for helping people draw out their creative and intellectual strengths, as well as identifying and addressing their academic weaknesses. Whether it be organizational, writing or critical reading issues, I believe I am equipped to work collaboratively with a tutee to develop a pragmatic and realistic plan to achieve a set of long term goals. I gained my tutoring experience working as an English literacy tutor with the JCC Literacy Program. During this time, I worked one-on-one with at-risk second grade students to improve their reading comprehension and organization, broaden their vocabulary and strengthen their grammar. Additionally, I have a strong visual arts background, which I always try to incorporate creatively into my reading and writing lesson plans. I received my arts training at LaGuardia HS, where I specialized in Photography and Painting. I went on to continue my study of digital and film photography at the International Center of Photography. Currently, I work as a Research Assistant at the Center for an Urban Future, a NYC-based Think Tank that focuses on work force and economic development issues.
