Experience
20+ years working with adults & young adults for NYC Dept of Education full-time. Last 7 years combination of GED preparation (content ranging from 5th grade through "high school"), Computer literacy, Distance Learning curriculum with one-on-one in-person coaching I have some time and work well with different populations and ages. My NY State Certification is K-6, though the bulk of my experience has been with adults and young adults who have dropped out and/or been failed by the educational system. They have a unique set of challenges related to learning, but have in common the "failure" to achieve their education and their skill sets and abilities range from 4th grade to high school. I briefly tutored young children at a Korean academy in New Jersey and my informal and relaxed manner generally puts people of all ages at ease.

Enjoy following politics, sports, music and dance. Students consistently remark on my "patience" and use of humor. I have always enjoyed writing and math in particular and have developed some unique computer based curriculums that target specific skills. I'm interested in what creates BARRIERS to learning as much as I am interested in teaching content or skills.
