Hello, I'm Eva. I'm excited to be returning to New York City after 12 years in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am attending Columbia University where I am a comparative literature and pre-med student. In Minnesota I attended St. Paul Academy and Summit School, a small college preparatory high school, where I was the editor of our school's award-winning news magazine. I have extensive experience editing and working with a writing staff at the magazine. Spanish is my native tongue, and I am a lover of language learning. In addition to working on becoming fluent in French, I am also studying Portuguese for Spanish speakers. Outside of studying and tutoring, my interests and hobbies include improv comedy, acting, theater, traveling, reading, and hiking.I love learning and sharing knowledge. I believe in countering anxiety and frustration with encouragement and guidance. The most effective tutors are patient and persistent. I am committed to working alongside my students with steady optimism for as long as it takes to reach their academic goals. I am available to tutor students in a wide variety of subject areas including Spanish 1-4, French 1-3, chemistry, reading, writing, literature, study skills and organization, ESL/ELL, grammar and mechanics, and SAT, PSAT, and other test preparation.
