Experience
I graduated in 2014 from Sarah Lawrence College with a degree in Child Development. I have experience educating and tutoring youth of different age groups and from different populations. Through my work, I have belonged to programs where I participated in trainings and seminars to develop tools and hone my skills as an educator. I can teach to a variety of learning styles and help students develop specific skills. I recently worked at a middle school through an AmeriCorps program called City Year. In my year of service, I developed curriculum and often was a tutor for students who were struggling in class or with their homework. I have worked with students who were learning disabled, struggled with emotional anxiety and have guided them to strategically approach large assignments, develop a deeper understanding of math and ELA and meet Common Core standards. I can teach material in a way that is engaging and integrates conceptual understanding and strategic thinking.
