Experience
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Muhlenberg College with a B.A. in English and Theatre. I'm a member of Phi Betta Kappa, as well as the English honors fraternity Sigma Tau Delta. My tutoring background stems from my time as a Writing Tutor at Muhlenberg's Writing Center. After a semester of an intensive Writing Theory course, I received my CRLA tutor certification, and continued training during my three years as a tutor in various workshops and staff meetings. I worked in our Drop-in Center, where I tutored students of all class years on a variety of subjects. Students of all majors were welcomed to bring in a paper of any subject for a 30-60 minute individual tutoring session. Though I am an English major, my training as a tutor allowed me to understand the needs of all types of papers across the various majors at our liberal arts school. I helped students with grammar, style, thesis development, and organization - all with the focus of helping each student become a better writer in the long run, rather than solely creating a better single piece of writing - although of course, that was a primary goal! I also worked as an in-class Writing Assistant for freshman writing seminars. As a WA, collaborated closely with professors to help freshman transition from high school to college level writing. I met individually with my freshman throughout the semester to help them make sure they were achieving class goals and furthering their skills as college writers.

I'm a recent graduate of Muhlenberg College, where I majored in both Theatre and English. I'm passionate about both my majors and hope to continue creating theatre while pursuing my love of reading, writing, and tutoring. I firmly believe that a good tutor bring out the best in a tutee's writing. Rather than imposing my own style on a tutee, I'm committed to working with a tutee's strengths and weaknesses to create the best piece of writing possible, while also teaching skills that can be carried into any future writing assignments! Aside from tutoring, I love hiking, coffee, seeing plays, and exploring used bookstores.
