Private tutor in New York, NY

New York University - BFA, Drama

At NYU Tisch, I majored in drama and minored in art history. My love of the arts and education provides me with a creativity that bestows upon students many different ways to tackle their work with purpose. This is especially true of the fields that I tutor which are Spanish, algebra, history, essay writing, English literature, composition, and public speaking. All of these branches of knowledge require flexibility in addition to following certain guidelines. Students must be prepared to deal with absolutes one moment and choices the next.I have been working as a tutor since high school. After all of these years, English literature with a focus on Shakespeare is my favorite subject. My time as a class leader has also taught me that students benefit from an ongoing chat about their strengths and needs. When a student and teacher keep the conversation going, the student advances more quickly. It also helps avoid unnecessary lessons or the utilization of teaching methods that fail to work for a particular student. One major thing about me is that I play the guitar. I also enjoy attending the theater whenever possible and staying knowledgeable about art history. Cooking also helps me relax.
