Columbia University in the City of New York - BA, Computer Science
I am a Computer Sciences major at Columbia University. Before I started college I spent six years in the Navy, working as a Nuclear Electrician. My time in the military taught me a number of lessons, including that if you work hard enough and put in the time, there is no limit to what you can accomplish. It also showed me that there is immense value in sacrifice, determination, and patience. These are the attributes that I bring to the processing of tutoring. Without question, laying a solid foundation is essential if you want to advance through college classes and lectures. You must have the basics down. If you don't, you will struggle. There have been many times, either in a group or working with a single student, where I have found that the issue in grasping the concepts was a lack of fundamental knowledge. I can tutor a number of subjects, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 - 4, Middle School Math, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Physics, Reading, Essay Editing, Computer Science, and English. I can also help a student prepare for the various SAT subject tests and AP Calculus AB. I live in New York City. I like to read and box, and I am interested in astronomy and sustainable development.
