Effective tutors are effective because they have experience and a system for tutoring their students. Based on that criteria, I would consider myself an excellent tutor. To begin with, I have experience as a volunteer tutor while at Hampden Sydney College and at Tulane University of Louisiana. I also have experience as a swim instructor. Those positions, in combination with my present work in surgery, have heightened my ability to interact with students in particular. I've also been able to develop my own tutoring system through practice with and exposure to a variety of students.I am interested in tutoring Anatomy, Biology, Physiology, Nutrition, Pharmacology, Ecology, English, Reading and the MCAT. My students have largely been medical school students, and I am fully prepared to teach these subjects. I am a perfect tutor for a student considering medical school or a career in healthcare in the future.
