Private tutor in New York, NY
Education
I graduated magna cum laude from Wagner College with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Speech, concentration in performance. My final GPA was a 3.845.
Experience
Don’t be fooled by my degree in theatre: My academic interests extend far beyond the stage... In my time at Wagner College, the liberal arts curriculum allowed me to pursue many interests outside of my major. I took a variety of honors classes in English literature and creative writing, as well as advanced level French classes. My skills lie in essay writing, editing, research papers, and breaking down and analyzing a text. I have a vast knowledge of classic literature and Shakespeare. In high school, I graduated with an NYS Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation and took a variety of AP and IB classes, never scoring below a 4 on any of my AP exams (Lang., Lit., World, U.S., Gov., etc.). My ACT score was a 33 on my first try, and my final GPA was a 95.55, completely unweighted. My goal is to give your son or daughter the skills they need to succeed in their classes: I’ll help them with unpacking and analyzing a text, vocabulary, essay writing skills, and AP/IB essay writing and test taking prep. I have a variety of resources and practice tests at my disposal, and will work to ensure that your child succeeds on their classwork, essays, and exams. While English language/literature is my strongest suit, I’m also skilled with high school level French, as well as music theory, and am open to explore any other subjects your son/daughter may need help with!

Hobbies
I love theatre (anything Rodgers and Hammerstein, Sondheim, or Shakespeare), reading, and writing. I also have a huge passion for classic movies, and the history of American filmmaking. Like most of my generation, I am also hopelessly addicted to Netflix, where I enjoy bingeing on House of Cards, Bob's Burgers, and Parks and Rec. Favorite authors include David Mitchell, Michael Chabon, Ian McEwan, and Cormac McCarthy. Favorite books in high school included One Hundred Years of Solitude, Julius Caesar, Lord of the Flies, and To Kill A Mockingbird.
