Education
I have a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Southern California (graduated Dec 2010) and I completed my M.S. in Mathematical Finance at the University of Southern California in May 2012. I also minored in Russian. After I graduated from USC, I worked at MUFG Union Bank in Los Angeles. I started as a Senior Analyst and was later promoted to an Associate with the Leasing and Asset Finance team. I moved to New York to pursue an opportunity at a startup company focused on finance, but quickly realized it wasn’t for me.
Experience
I recently left a finance job to return to school to pursue a degree in medicine. I am interested in tutoring to generate some income while I pursue my studies. During college and graduate school (2008-2012), I worked as a freelance tutor and as a private tutor for two tutoring companies in the Los Angeles area. My students ranged from elementary school students to college students. I mostly tutored all levels of math (APs included) and all levels of science (APs included). Although I mainly focused on math and science, I also tutored economics, history, English and Spanish. I provided any additional homework help or study support the student wanted. Some of my students I worked with for many years. I had the pleasure of watching them grow, learn and become confident young adults. One of my students, who I greatly adored, I worked with from the 8th grade until she graduated and left for Boston College in 2012. I am fun, personable and enjoy math and science, which I believe is important for students to see. Tutoring was a rewarding experience for me (much more than working in finance) so I look forward to getting involved again. In high school I scored the following on my AP exams: Calculus AB - 5 Calculus BC - 5 Statistics - 5 Chemistry - 4

Hobbies
I am energetic and fun. I love being outdoors. I snowboard and have attempted to learn how to surf. I have a rescue dog named Switch. She can be quite a handful. I love to travel. I also love to learn languages, which makes traveling that much more rewarding. I grew up speaking Spanish and I minored in Russian. I have also taken Italian and Arabic classes.
