Education
I graduated May 2015 from UC Berkeley with a double major in Applied Mathematics and Cognitive Neuroscience, and a double minor in Slavic Literature and Languages and Philosophy. I was also Editor-in-Chief of a Slavic Journal in college. I now work in Data Analytics at a startup in Manhattan so I know a bit of programming as well that I am willing to teach your kid if you would like them to learn more about that.
Experience
I tutored middle school age kids as well as high school age in test prep, and every subject they were taking (math, science, english, writing, history, etc.) I want to be a tutor because I strongly miss that feeling I had in college of really making a difference in a kid's educational experience. Especially at a young age -- that is when it is most important for them to be told that they can do anything and then be taught how to. I saw that make a big difference for many kids that I tutored. I am very energetic and patient. I try to make learning fun. I strongly believe that anyone can learn anything and that the most important thing for any kid is that they are told that they are capable. Too many people tell kids that "math is hard" or "school is hard". If you instill confidence in them and convince them they are capable, then they will do SO much better.
