Experience
I recently earned my bachelor's degree in the field of Literary Arts from Brown University. I began tutoring as an undergrad, assisting grad students from other countries as they tried to improve their grasp of the English language and acclimate themselves to American history and culture. I also spent time working as a teacher's assistant and giving individual Math and Science lessons to elementary students at a summer camp. From what I've seen, the most progress is made with a student when the learning can be accomplished within the context of natural conversation, rather than rigidly structured memorization of facts and terms. I am most passionate about the fields of History, Literature, and English. My main goal as a teacher is to empower my students so that they can reach the potential that they all have inside of them. I am also comfortable tutoring in the subject areas of Spanish, German, Social Studies, Philosophy, and Religious Studies. Additionally, I have experience assisting students as they prepare for standardized exams like the SAT and PSAT. When I am not in the classroom or tutoring, I like to spend my time studying languages, playing soccer, traveling, writing, and reading.
