Experience

I have always loved to learn, and I believe that knowledge brings power to a person's life. I think that every person has a right to knowledge, and I enjoy helping empower students by helping them achieve great success in their studies. Knowledge opens the door to more opportunities in life and also helps the learner grow as a person. I began tutoring in high school, by assisting English as a Second Language students at a nearby elementary school. During this time, I also tutored other high school students in Spanish, and I was part of the Spanish Honor Society. I don't only tutor students in school subjects, but strive to also be a mentor and help them achieve general success in their lives and educations. I have a lot of experience working with children outside of the classroom too, and one highlight was creating and directing a theater camp for elementary school students while I was attending high school. I also conducted several Model UN conferences where I led students in intellectual discussions that I feel were great experiences for educational growth. I believe that I am a successful tutor because I not only have experience, but I also have a personality that helps me to naturally motivate students while remaining patient and empathetic. I find great personal joy in helping others succeed in reaching their goals.
